If you are anything like me, you will do almost anything to avoid washing your hair multiple times in the week. I'm not saying I just let my hair look like a greasy mess, let's not be silly, but I do live for dry shampoo. It's my regular saviour and I always have a few bottles stocked up in the cupboard. I have come across a few tips over the last year to help me get the most out of each bottle and I think you should hear them.
Don't spray to close
For me personally, I tend to use a brown tinted dry shampoo, such as *Batiste's Dark and Deep, but on days where I'm using an *original bottle, I have been known to struggle with un-wanted white patches. Looking grey just isn't for me and to avoid this, it's much better to spray from a distance when applying to the roots. So take a step back before committing to a spritz. Your young, fresh looking locks will thank you for it.
Make sure to massage
I always thought this was a given until a friend mentioned that they never did this after applying. After spraying your roots, use your hands to really work in and distribute the product. No one ever complains with a massage anyway right? Massaging the spray in before brushing means there's less chance of any product just sitting on your hair without any effect.
Give it time
For the most effective results in freshness and volume, leave your hair to soak up the product for a awhile. For example, if you are good at planning ahead why not spray and massage the product into your roots before going to bed. Your hair will be more alive than ever when you wake up.
Don't do it everyday
Although this may be tempting.. very tempting, it's best not to over use dry shampoo between washes. Over using the spray can cause your follicles to clog and nobody wants that. Let your hair breathe every now and then, no matter how much you fancy a spray.
Got any tips you want to add? I'd love to hear them!
