I do love a good baking session but usually my go to is a sweet treat. I wanted to try something savoury and ended up with these. Any cheese-lover would enjoy these, so here's the recipe for you to try.
Ingredients
200g of Plain gluten-free flour
1 tbsp of baking powder
1 tsp of sugar
¼ tsp of salt
¼ tsp of black pepper
¼ tsp of paprika
¼ tsp of mixed herbs
50g of butter
150ml of milk
100g of grated cheddar
Method
Step One
Pre-heat the oven to 220°C and sprinkle flour over a baking tray covering the whole surface.
Step Two
In a large bowl sift in flour and baking powder. Mix and add sugar, salt, pepper, paprika and mixed herbs. Combine well.
Step Three
To the dry ingredients add butter and with your hands, rub ingredients together to make a breadcrumb-like texture.
Step Four
Pour in the milk and whilst still using your hands, combine to make a dough. Add the majority of cheese to the dough and continue to knead. (save some cheese for topping)
Step Five
Dust a kitchen surface area or chopping board with flour and place dough on top. Flatten with a rolling pin to a 3cm thickness and cut using a cookie cutter of your choice.
Step Six
Place onto the prepared baking tray and sprinkle remaining cheese over the dough. Place in the oven for 12-18 minutes. Cool on a wire rack and enjoy.
